- BeGas, the green engine manufacturer, will be creating 30 new positions in the next two years and will be focusing its search for talented engineers and technicians coming from the automotive and alternative energy sector for transport.
- Due to this next expansion, the startup reaffirms its industrialization commitment in Bizkaia, where are located its headquarters and the production cell for its 100% autogas engines.
- The company expects to strengthen the role of the heavy vehicle industry in Spain by providing a novel solution: the installation and replacement of diesel engines for trucks and city buses.
Facing the industrial sector situation, living the fourth largest drop recorded among EU countries, according to Eurostat; BeGas, the technology Company, thanks to its business strategy of 2021, is set to boost the economy and strengthening in the Spanish automotive industrial fabric.
BeGas´master plan implies the creation of more than 30 jobs in the next two years, which will undoubtedly be a great boost for the sector and also for Bizkaia, in line with the company’s commitment to industrialization in this region .
“Our plan is a commitment to the future, and places the development of employment in this sector as one of the central axes of our strategy. Since July we have increased our workforce by 30% and at this point, we urge to continue growing and innovating in the use of alternative fuels to contribute to a sustainable future in the transport of people and goods ”, says Pedro Silva, CEO of BeGas.
This pioneering company in the manufacture of engines powered 100% by autogas, estimates to double its workforce before 2023, reaching 60 people working in the project. To get it, BeGas will maintain a human resources strategy based on the recruitment of multidisciplinary and diverse talent people, and the creation of stable and quality employment.
The goal is none other than to build a team totally capable of providing complementary experiences and skills at an intergenerational level that allow them to seek innovative solutions to the challenges they face every day to improve the service of their clients.
“We are hunting for engineers and technicians specialized in automotive and alternative energy for transports who are always looking for a way to go further, to learn new things to generate value beyond their own expertise. This kind of distinctions make our success, ”says Silva.
Business development predictions are very optimistic after several local corporations start to work with BeGas to include its engine in vehicles dedicated to heavy urban transport. For this reason, in addition to hiring new professionals, the Spanish company will also be committed to internal promotion of its staff which, added to the continuous feedback and recognition of a job well done, means that there is hardly any employee turnover in the organization.
Currently, the startup has a team spread over two locations: Bizkaia, where the production cell is located, and Madrid, where the engine integration unit with state-of-the-art tools is based.
BeGas, partner of local corporations in the energy transition
Aware of the need to raise again urban transport and promote the transition to cleaner energies that help to enrich air quality, BeGas estimates that it will reach a production of more than 100 engines in 2021 and exceed the 500 propellants produced for the next two years.
To achieve this goal and to get that more companies and local corporations can join this energy transition thanks to its engines, the company based in Bizkaia offers two solutions. On the one hand, the re-motorization of a model already created for diésel and already working, which means the replacement of this engine by the AVG from BeGas. Thanks to this strategy, local institutions with fewer resources can bet on sustainable transport without having to invest large budgets or fully replace their fleet of vehicles.
On the other hand, BeGas also offers its engines through another aspect focused on the new vehicle. In this case, it works directly with the vehicle manufacturers’ assembly lines, providing them with the green engine and offering engineering and calibration support so that the propellant is optimally integrated into the vehicle.
